Round Rock is a thriving Texan city that sits at the heart of the Greater Austin metropolitan area, located in Williamson County, with a small section in Travis County. As of 2020, its population stands at 119,468, as per the census. The Balcones Escarpment runs through the city, creating a geological boundary that divides it into two distinct regions. In contrast, the western areas are marked by hilly terrain, elevated elevations, and scarce topsoil, typical of the Texas Hill Country. The city lies approximately 20 miles north of downtown Austin and shares a common border with the capital at Texas State Highway 45.
